ผลการวิจัย พบว่า การออกแบบอาคารพักอาศัยสำหรับผู้สูงอายุที่คำนึงถึงการมีปฏิสัมพันธ์ทางสังคมตามวัฒนธรรมไทย มีผลดีต่อผู้สูงอายุมากกว่าอาคารพักอาศัยสำหรับผู้สูงอายุที่ออกแบบมาโดยไม่ได้คำนึงถึงเรื่องนี้ ทั้งในเรื่องของสภาพจิตใจ และการใช้ชีวิตประจำวันของผู้สูงอายุเอง โดยปัจจัยเกี่ยวข้องที่จำเป็นจะต้องศึกษา ได้แก่ วัฒนธรรมของคนไทยที่ส่งผลต่อผู้สูงอายุ การจัดสรรพื้นที่การใช้งานที่เหมาะสมต่อผู้สูงอายุและบุคคลอื่นที่เข้ามาใช้บริการ และการออกแบบพื้นที่ว่างที่ส่งผลดีต่อการใช้ชีวิตประจำวันของผู้สูงอายุในประเทศไทย
