These electrodes
are either relatively expensive, the cell construction
is not simple, response times are rather long, or they suffer
from insufficient chemical stability. An ideal potentiometric
pH-detector for FIA titrations should have the following
characteristics: (i) good chemical stability, (ii) short response
time (time constants), (iii) large dynamic measuring range,
and (iv) small influence on the flow profile of the solution.
