1.種々の柔軟鎖構造を有する非対称型ダイマー液晶の合成と物性
液晶相発現の本質的役割を担う原子団であるメソゲン基を，柔軟鎖の両端に導入したものをダイマー液晶と呼ぶ．本研究では，2つの異なるメソゲン基を導入した非対称型ダイマー液晶を新規に設計・合成する．その際，柔軟鎖部分にはメチレン鎖，シロキサン鎖，1,1'－二置換フェロセンなど，さまざまな柔軟鎖を有する構造を導入した化合物を用い，それらの諸物性を明らかにする．さらに生成物の電場印加下における相転移挙動の検討も行う
