การวิจัยครั้งนี้ทำการเก็บข้อมูลด้วยแบบสอบถาม โดยที่กลุ่มประชากรที่ใช้ในการศึกษา คือ นักศึกษาภาคปกติระดับปริญญาตรี 4 ปีที่กำลังศึกษาอยู่ในภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2556 คณะวิทยาการจัดการ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏพิบูลสงคราม ในช่วง ระหว่าง วันที่ 1 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2556 ถึง เดือน 20 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2556
รวมทั้งสิ้น 2,778 คน ประกอบด้วย นักศึกษาสาขาอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยว จำนวน 210 คน สาขานิเทศศาสตร์จำนวน 310 คน สาขาบริหารธุรกิจ จำนวน 1,789 คน สาขาเศรษฐศาสตร์ธุรกิจ จำนวน 53 คน สาขาการบัญชี จำนวน 416 คน ทำการกำหนดขนาดของกลุ่มตัวอย่าง ตามการคำนวณจากสูตรของ ยามาเน่ (1964) โดยกำหนดค่าความเชื่อมั่นร้อยละ 95 ซึ่งได้กลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 350 คน หลังจากนั้นใช้วิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเป็นสัดส่วน ตามจำนวนนักศึกษาในแต่ละสาขาวิชา ซึ่งได้กลุ่มตัวอย่างเพื่อใช้ในการทำการศึกษา ประกอบด้วย นักศึกษาสาขาอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยว จำนวน 27 คน สาขานิเทศศาสตร์จำนวน 39 คน สาขาบริหารธุรกิจ จำนวน 225 คน สาขาเศรษฐศาสตร์ธุรกิจ จำนวน 7 คน สาขาการบัญชี จำนวน 52 คน
