ซึ่งปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นนี้ล้วนเป็นฝีมือของมนุษย์ เช่น
การตัดไม้ การเผาป่า การบุกรุกพื้นที่ป่า เพื่อไปทำเป็นสิ่งของเครื่องใช้ เพื่อทำพื้นที่ทางการเกษตร , หาของป่า ,สร้างรีสอร์ท,เลี้ยงสัตว์ , สร้างเขื่อน ทำให้พืชลดจำนวนลงและลดอย่างต่อเนื่อง เมื่อไม่มีพืชก็ส่งผลให้สัตว์ไม่มีที่อยู่ ไม่มีที่หลบภัย และไม่มีอาหารจึงต้องเข้ามาหากินในพื้นที่การเกษตรของมนุษย์ ทำลายพืชผลทางการเกษตร จึงเป็นเหตุทำให้สัตว์ล้มตายเป็นจำนวนมาก บางชนิดสูญพันธุ์ ทำให้ระบบนิเวศเสียสมดุล และไม่มีความหลากหลาย
เพราะการกระทำของมนุษย์ตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน จึงทำให้ปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมนี้รุนแรงขึ้นทุกปี
และสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นไม่ได้มีผลกระทบต่อ มนุษย์ฝ่ายเดียว ยังส่งผลกระทบไปยังสิ่งมีชีวิตอื่น
