2.1. Materials
2.1.1. Plant material
Fresh orange-yellow fruits of O. ficus-indica, grown in Siliana
(Region of Tunisia), were harvested on August 2009 and frozen
immediately at −4 ◦C prior to processing.
2.1.2. Studies on wool
The wool fabric used was scoured and bleached wool fabric
of 205 g/m2, 72 ends per inch and 64 picks per inch was further
treated with a solution containing 5 g/L of sodium carbonate and
3 g/L of non-ionic detergent (Hostapal CV, Clariant), at 50 ◦C for
30 min. Then, it was thoroughly rinsed and air dried at room temperature.
