In the present manuscript we describe the performance of
the detector cell for titrations of buffer solutions with various
additions of acetic acid and butyric acid. The titrations were
used to determine the activity of the lipase type B from Candida
antarctica, CAL-B, via the change of the composition of
the buffer solution with time. This enzyme is a particularly
efficient and robust lipase catalyzing a diversity of reactions
including many different regio- and enantioselective syntheses.Triacetin and tributyrinwere used as substrates. The
aim was to show that potentiometric FIA titrations are a powerful
tool for high-throughput determinations of activities of
lipases and esterases in buffer solutions.
