A wealthy businesswoman handed over £1.6 million after being duped by a gang who used a seduction manual to convince her she had met the man of her dreams.
The woman, who is in her 40s and from Hillingdon, North West London, became besotted after meeting a man online who called himself Christian Anderson.
Claiming he was an oil engineer working in Africa he soon declared his love for her and began making plans for their life together.
But she was actually exchanging emails with a gang of so-called romance scammers, who soon persuaded her to transfer huge sums into their bank account.
