Traditional way to measure a mechanical torque of a rotating shaft of an electric motor is to attach a wired
torque measurement unit with an additional piece of a shaft in the transmission system between the driving
motor and the load. Because of the required additional parts, assembling a wired torque measurement unit
into the transmission system is a rather complicated, time consuming, and in some cases even impossible
task. In addition, it affects the mechanical characteristics of the system. In this paper a wireless torque
measurement system is studied, which benefits are: fast installation and un-installation, no need to install any
additional parts between the motor and the load. Since the measurement system can be installed onto a
present transmission system, it is applicable for electric motors and loads already in operation.
