มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของการใช้เทคโนโลยี เพื่อพัฒนาการเรียนการสอนและเพื่อใช้เป็นเครื่องมือสำหรับอาจารย์และนักศึกษาในการแสวงหาความรู้ที่ไร้ขอบเขตจำกัดในสภาวะไร้พรมแดนโดยมหาวิทยาลัยมีหน่วยงานให้บริการด้านเทคโนโลยีทางการศึกษา ได้แก่ ศูนย์สารสนเทศเพื่อการจัดการ ศูนย์คอมพิวเตอร์ และศูนย์มีเดีย

มหาวิทยาลัยได้มุ่งมั่นที่จะพัฒนาตนเองไปสู่การเป็น ICT Campus โดยการปรับปรุงระบบเครือข่าย SPU Net เช่น Wireless LAN Infrastructure, ระบบ e-Learning การจัดทำเว็บไซต์ใหม่ โดยอาศัยการทำงานแบบ Single Password ระบบ SPU Knowledge เป็นต้น สนับสนุนให้อาจารย์ทุกท่านมีคอมพิวเตอร์ Notebook ใช้งาน และจัดหา Tablet PC สำหรับผู้บริหาร รวมถึงการติดตั้งอุปกรณ์ที่มีความทันสมัยในห้องปฏิบัติการต่างๆ ภายในมหาวิทยาลัย

นอกจากนั้น ยังร่วมมือกับบริษัทไมโครซอฟท์ (ประเทศไทย) จำกัด ในโครงการพัฒนาเสริมสร้างทักษะเว็บเซอร์วิสกับนักศึกษาภายใต้ชื่อโครงการ Academic Alliance ซึ่งเป็นการพัฒนาด้านเทคโนโลยีของมหาวิทยาลัย
อย่างต่อเนื่อง พร้อมทั้งยังได้สนับสนุนให้มีการประดิษฐ์และคิดค้นนวัตกรรมใหม่ๆ อีกด้วย
