Introduction
Umbilical cord prolapse was the rare obstetric
emergency but high perinatal morbidity and mortality.
The reported prevalence varies between 0.1 and
0.6%. The perinatal mortality ranged between 32 and
47%.(1-5)
The last study in Thailand was in the year 1987
by Israngura et al. The prevalence of umbilical cord
prolapse was 0.08% or 1 in 1,194 births, eleven cases
