The TOEIC test was initially designed to give a reliable measure of an English learner’s pro¿ciency and
over the years has become a well-known and respected test. Students at Kagawa University are required to sit
the TOEIC twice and their results are used to place them in class best suited to their pro¿ciency level. As a result
the TOEIC test is an important element in the English curriculum at Kagawa University.
