The Foundation for Consumers (FFC) recently released findings of a survey on beauty creams. The survey found that the prices of such products do not always guarantee their quality.

The FFC held a press conference on November 12 to show lab test results that they conducted on various popular beauty products.
QUALITY SURVEY
Samples of the products were collected by member networks of International Consumers Research and Training and sent for lab tests at the German-based Institute Dr Schrader.
The FFC, as part of this network, found that all the tested products have been sold in Thailand.
The FFC said that products were evaluated and given scores from five to zero stars, from the best to the worst, based on ability to moisturise skin, sun protection factor (SPF) levels, UVA protection levels, consumer opinion and information provided on the label.

UNEXPECTED RESULTS
The test found that nine of the 24 products scored the highest with four stars, including the cheapest product of the test, Cien BB Cream Perfect Skin SPF 15, which sells for 100 baht, and middle-range products like Nivia BB Cream SPF 10, which retails at 365 baht.
Products in the middle to high price range received the lowest scores, including Clinique Super Defense CC Cream SPF 30, which costs 1,530 baht, and Garnier BB cream, which sells for 405 baht.
“The results prove that price is not everything," said Siriwan Parinyart, chief of the FFC’s products testing unit. "Some people assume that products with high prices are better than cheaper ones, but it is not always true.”
