การวิจัยเรื่องนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจของพนักงานในการปฏิบัติงานของธนาคารออมสิน ภาค16 สาขาถนนราษฎร์อุทิศ จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี และ 2) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความพึงพอใจในการปฎิบัติงานของพนักงานธนาคารออมสิน ภาค16 สาขาถนนราษฎร์อุทิศ จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี จำแนกตามปัจจัยพื้นฐานส่วนบุคคล กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้คือ พนักงานธนาคารออมสิน ภาค16 สาขาถนนราษฎร์อุทิศ จำนวน 369 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือ แบบสอบถาม (Questionnaire) และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์สำเร็จรูปทางสถิติ (SPSS) ซึ่งสถิติที่ใช้วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลคือค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และทดสอบสมมติฐานโดยใช้ค่าสถิติ t-test และค่าสถิติ F-test หรือความแปรปรวนทางเดียว (One-Way ANOVA) และทดสอบค่าเฉลี่ยความแตกต่างรายคู่ด้วยวิธี LSD ที่ระดับในสำคัญทางสถิติที่ 0.5
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า
1. พนักงานมีความพึงพอใจในการปฎิบัติงานในภาพรวม อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง และเมื่อพิจารณารายด้านพบว่า อยู่ในระดับมากคือ ด้านความงามสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเพื่อนร่วมงานและอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง 6 ด้าน โดยเรียงลำดับค่าเฉลี่ยจากมากไปหาน้อยคือ ด้านความมั่นคงในการทำงาน ด้านนโยบายและการบริหาร ด้านการปกครองบังคับบัญชา ด้านสวัสดิการ ด้านสภาพแวดล้อมในการทำงาน และด้านค่าตอบแทน
2. พนักงานที่มีปัจจัยพื้นฐานส่วนบุคคล ซึ่งประกอบด้วย ระดับการศึกษา และรายได้เฉลี่ยต่อเดือนต่างกัน มีความพึงพอใจในการปฏิบัติงานในภาพรวม แตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 ส่วนเพศ อายุ และระยะเวลาการปฏิบัติงานต่างกัน มีความพึงพอใจในการปฏิบัติงานในภาพรวม ไม่แตกต่างกัน
