“Youngjae called me. He works at the bar you got wasted in and well, he called me up.”
Jaebum chuckled, and he was relieved that the guy did. “I’m sorry for causing you any trouble.”
“Here” He said, handing the small pack of juice. “This will help with your hang over.”
“Thanks”
For a moment, the room was filled with silence. He didn’t know how to start, because there was a lot to say. Where should he start?
“Junior” The guy called out. “Sit with me”
“Jaebum, about what I said, I’m sorry.”
“I know. You were mad that time, and one thing I’ve learned with people, it’s that never try to make an argument with an angry person, because no matter what anyone would say, you would always things that you’re right.”
“I’m really sorry.”
“As I said, I know. And, I understand. I’m sorry, too. I should’ve been more sensitive, knowing that you were going through something that time.” The tension was slowly fading away, and he was glad it was. “If there’s one thing I hate, it’s having a hangover.”
He could feel the weight of Jaebum’s head on his shoulder. “That’s what you get for drinking too much.”
“Ugh, I know.”
“You even kissed that guy from the bar.”
“No way?” The other asked, looking at him with complete shock. “I did not!”
“You sure did.” He said, laughing afterwards. “You’re the kissing anyone type when you’re drunk.”
“I am not!”
“Whatever you say, Jaebum.”
“Never speak of this ever again, understood?”
He chuckled. “Only if you treat me some pizza.”
“Done deal, Junior.”
“Also, my mom wants you to join us for breakfast. So, finish that and let’s go. She hates waiting.”
“Did you tell her I was drunk?” He nodded. “Well, I told her we slept together, that’s why I slept here.”
It was his turn to be in complete shock. “You did not”
Jaebum stood up, running outside the room. He soon followed. It relieved him, knowing things were better between them. This was probably the start of something better for the both of them.
But, he had one more thing to finish. This time, he needed more courage to face this person.
---
Mark had been searching for Jackson for the longest time now. His boyfriend should be at school this time around, considering that the boy had a class supposed to be. Where was he? There was no use trying to call the guy, because no one was answering.
He desperately wanted to see Jackson right now. He wanted to hug the boy, kiss even. As he continued searching the hallways, he saw someone who could probably help him.
“Excuse me” He called out. “Aren’t you Nicholas?”
“Yes, I am. And you are?”
“Oh, I’m Mark.”
“Mark? As in Jackson’s boyfriend Mark?” He nodded. He couldn’t help but blush, especially when it came from another person. “Is there anything you need?”
“Have you seen Jackson?”
The other heavily sighed. Why did it feel that something was wrong? “I guess you’ve heard of the news, right?”
“What news?”
“Jackson’s transferring schools.”
He froze. No, he certainly did not know of that. This must’ve been a mistake. “What?”
“He came here earlier, saying that he was officially leaving the team, because he was going to study back in Hongkong.”
“What?”
“Wait, you seriously don’t know anything?” He shook his head. “Really? I would’ve expected him to say it to you first, of all people.”
No, this must be a mistake. It had to be. “T-thanks, Nicholas.”
He started walking. Where was he headed to? He wasn’t sure himself. He just had the urge to walk away, to be alone, and to be with Jackson. This wasn’t real, this was just a misunderstanding. It had to be. Where was Jackson? He needed to find his boyfriend. This wasn't what he expected. He was so confused.
He took his phone out. He needed to talk to Jackson, and to his surprise, he got a text.
We need to talk, meet me at the park near the café’ we go to.
And soon, ran out of the building, as if he was trying to catch something.
Please, this had to be a misunderstanding. Please, not now. Not when I’m ready to fight for you. Please.
