Preparation of coating-forming solutions.
Three different coating forming solutions were prepared
pectin-EAC (pectin 3.5 g/100 g; sodium benzoate 0.05 g/100 g; potassium sorbate 0.05 g/100 g, and glycerol 0.5 g/100 g), pullulan-EAC (pullulan 6.5 g/100 g; sodium benzoate 0.05 g/ 100 g; potassium sorbate 0.05 g/100 g, and glycerol 0.5 g/100 g), andchitosan-EAC(chitosan1.5g/100g;sodiumbenzoate0.05g/ 100 g; potassium sorbate 0.05 g/100 g, and glycerol 0.5 g/100 g). Solutions were made by dissolving compounds in sterile distilled water under magnetic stirring. To determine the effect of the mixture polymer-antimicrobials, an additional control, a solution of antimicrobials (sodium benzoate 0.05 g/100 g and potassium sorbate 0.05 g/100 g) was utilized.
