Let's be fair. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious and clean. But 8.4? Come on! Check-in was slow, with uncontrolled queue-jumping. The breakfast room (more like a canteen), and its overspill area, could not accommodate the morning rush and I had to wait until after 09.00 for a seat. At check-out, I was greeted by a trainee who reluctantly dragged her eyes away from her smartphone, only to demand in a tone more befitting Intourist than Mandarin, "yes?". And the hotel has no bar, and no alcohol for serving with meals: both facts studiously omitted from its website (and Agoda's). All very far from 4-star standards of service. Luckily I was there for one night only. It will certainly be the last.
