In the present study, the BMI was also associated with
symptom burden and cardiac event-free survival. Previous
studies have reported a reduced risk of hospitalisation due to
worsening HF symptoms and cardiac-related mortality in
patients with an increased BMI (Kenchaiah et al. 2007,
Oreopoulos et al. 2008). Thus, further research is required to
address the effects of adherence to an SRD and BMI in
relation to HF outcomes
