การปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีและเหมาะสม (Good Agriculture Practices เรียกย่อๆว่า GAP)
หมายถึง แนวทางในการทำการเกษตร เพื่อให้ได้ผลผลิตที่มีคุณภาพดีตรงตามมาตรฐานที่กำหนด ได้ผลผลิตสูงคุ้มค่าการลงทุนและกระบวนการผลิตจะต้องปลอดภัยต่อเกษตรกรและผู้ บริโภค มีการใช้ทรัพยากรที่เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุด เกิดความยั่งยืนทางการเกษตรและไม่ทำให้เกิดมลพิษต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม โดยหลักการนี้ได้รับการกำหนดโดยองค์การอาหารและเกษตรแห่งสหประชาชาติ (FAO)

การตรวจรับรองระบบ GAP ของกรมวิชาการเกษตรได้แบ่งออกเป็น 3 ระดับ ดังนี้
1. กระบวนการผลิตที่ได้ผลิตผลปลอดภัย
2. กระบวนการที่ได้ผลิตผลปลอดภัยและปลอดภัยจากศัตรูพืช

- ต้องใช้สารเคมีให้สอดคล้องกับรายการ
- ห้ามใช้วัตถุอันตรายที่ระบุในทะเบียนวัตถุอันตรายทางการเกษตรที่ห้ามใช้
- ตรวจสอบสถานที่เก็บรักษาวัตถุอันตรายทางการเกษตร
