The January 7th episode of KBS 2TV variety program ‘Cool Kiz On The Block’ aired the first part of their new year special ‘The Return of Badminton – All Star Game’.
Kang Ho Dong, 2PM’s Chansung and Nichkhun, John Park, TVXQ’s Changmin, Lee Man Ki, and others were broken up into groups for games together with current Korean professional badminton players like Lee Yong Dae, Ha Tae Kwon.
In the best of 3 series, Nichkhun went all out and showed his dazzling range of skill shots. He started off by brushing aside the opposing team members of John Park, Changmin, and Lee Man Ki with relative ease. He then teamed up with Lee Dong Soo for a doubles game, and showed his rocket-like speed and powerful smashes to defeat the doubles pairing of Lee Man Gi and Ha Tae Kwon.
Nichkhun would always be using a dazzling range of shots to defeat his opponent, and his pro-like skills really left one stunned. Nichkhun’s outstanding skills also saw him getting the thumbs up from current badminton professional player Lee Yong Dae.
With regards to Nichkhun’s performance, viewers couldn’t help but exclaim, “His talent is really something since he had experience in playing badminton previously.” Prior to his debut with 2PM, Nichkhun was active in the American badminton scene.
The game ended as the doubles pairing of Nichkhun and Lee Dong Soo defeated the pairing of Lee Man Gi and Ha Tae Kwon by a score of 11:10. The preview at the end showed Nichkhun using his gaze to pinpoint his opponent’s movement and the flight of the ball, and left viewers really looking forward to seeing the actual game and the eventual winner.
