การส่งเสริมการผลิตก๊าซชีวภาพในฟาร์มเลี้ยงสัตว์



ความเป็นมา

หน่วยบริการก๊าซชีวภาพ สถาบันวิจัยและพัฒนาวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ มีแผนงานที่จะทำการส่งเสริม และเผยแพร่เทคโนโลยีการผลิตก๊าซชีวภาพ ในฟาร์มเลี้ยงสัตว์ขนาดกลาง และขนาดใหญ่ ภายใต้การสนับสนุนจากกองทุนเพื่อส่งเสริมการอนุรักษ์พลังงาน สำนักงานคณะกรรมการนโยบายพลังงานแห่งชาติ (สพช.) ตั้งแต่เดือนตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2538 มีเป้าหมายในการก่อสร้างระบบก๊าซชีวภาพ ปริมาตรรวม 50,000 ลูกบาศก์เมตรภายในระยะเวลา 6 ปี (โครงการฯ ระยะที่ 1 และระยะที่ 2) โดยในปีแรกตั้งเป้าหมายการก่อสร้างระบบไว้ที่ 3,000 ลูกบาศก์เมตร ปีที่สอง 7,000 ลูกบาศก์เมตร และหลังจากนั้นอีกปีละ 10,000 ลูกบาศก์เมตร จนครบระยะเวลาโครงการ 6 ปี

ปัจจุบัน หน่วยบริการก๊าซชีวภาพ กำลังมุ่งเน้นให้บริการด้านเทคโนโลยีการผลิตก๊าซชีวภาพ ในการสำรวจฟาร์ม เพื่อวางผังระบบก๊าซชีวภาพ และส่วนประกอบต่างๆ ให้เหมาะกับสภาพของพื้นที่ภายในฟาร์ม และจัดสร้างระบบบำบัดน้ำเสียที่เหมาะสม ควบคู่ไปกับการผลิตก๊าซชีวภาพ เพื่อนำมาใช้เป็นพลังงานทดแทนภายในฟาร์ม และในขณะเดียวกัน ระบบจะช่วยจัดการกับของเสีย ที่เกิดขึ้นภายในฟาร์มอย่างเป็นระบบ และก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุด เมื่อการก่อสร้างเสร็จสมบูรณ์ และเริ่มเดินระบบแล้ว แต่ละฟาร์มจะต้องรับไปดำเนินการ และจัดการเองโดยเร็วที่สุด เพื่อก่อให้เกิดความสามารถ ที่จะดูแลระบบได้ด้วยบุคลากรของฟาร์มเองอย่างยั่งยืนต่อไป แนวทางการให้บริการของหน่วยบริการก๊าซชีวภาพ อาศัยหลักการทั่วไปของการดำเนินงานการจัดการสิ่งแวดล้อม ในรูปแบบที่เป็นเชิงพาณิชย์ เพื่อให้สอดคล้องกับระบบของธุรกิจ

เทคโนโลยีก๊าซชีวภาพ เป็นเทคโนโลยี ที่อาศัยหลักการย่อยสลายสารอินทรีย์ โดยวิธีชีวภาพแบบไม่ใช้อากาศ (Anaerobic Digestion) โดยสร้างสภาวะให้แบคทีเรียที่มีอยู่ในธรรมชาติ ย่อยสลายสารอินทรีย์ ที่มีอยู่ในน้ำเสียในสภาพไร้ออกซิเจน ผลที่ได้จากการหมักย่อย คือส่วนผสมของก๊าซชีวภาพที่ติดไฟได้ ซึ่งมีก๊าซมีเทน (Methane) เป็นองค์ประกอบหลักอยู่ประมาณ 70% ก๊าซชีวภาพที่ได้นี้ สามารถนำไปใช้ในการหุงต้ม หรือกกลูกสุกร ตลอดจนใช้กับเครื่องต้มน้ำร้อน และเครื่องอบแห้งเชิงอุตสาหกรรมต่างๆ ได้เป็นอย่างดี การใช้ก๊าซชีวภาพเน้นให้ใช้ประโยชน์ ทางด้านการผลิตความร้อนโดยตรงมากที่สุด เพื่อเป็นการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพเชิงความร้อนของระบบการใช้ประโยชน์ และหากมีปริมาณมากเกินพอ ก็สามารถนำไปใช้เดินเครื่องยนต์ เพื่อผลิตไฟฟ้าต่อไป

ระบบก๊าซชีวภาพในฟาร์มเลี้ยงสัตว์ เป็นระบบที่มีส่วนประกอบหลายอย่าง ที่ทำงานสัมพันธ์กันเป็นอย่างดี ซึ่งสามารถแยกออกเป็นขั้นตอนการทำงานของระบบ เป็นหลักใหญ่ๆ ได้ 3 ขั้นตอน คือ

3) ขั้นตอนที่ 3 โดยในขั้นตอนนี้กล่าวได้ว่าเป็นขั้นตอนของการบำบัดขั้นหลัง (Post Treatment) ซึ่งเป็นการบำบัดที่ออกแบบระบบให้มีการทำงานที่เลียนแบบธรรมชาติ โดยอาศัยการทำงานของพืช สาหร่าย สัตว์น้ำ เล็กๆ และแบคทีเรีย ซึ่งเกิดตามธรรมชาติ ทำงานสัมพันธ์กันเพื่อบำบัดน้ำ ที่ได้ผ่านการบำบัดแบบไร้ออกซิเจน มาแล้วในขั้นต้นให้สะอาดมากยิ่งขึ้น จนถึงขั้นที่สามารถหมุนเวียน นำกลับมาใช้ทำความสะอาดคอก และ/หรือ ปล่อยออกสู่ภายนอกได้ในที่สุด การบำบัดขั้นหลัง จะประกอบไปด้วยสระพักแบบเปิด ที่รับน้ำเสียจากการบำบัดขั้นตอนที่ 2 แล้วปล่อยเข้าสู่ชุดบึงพืชน้ำ ซึ่งปลูกพืชบางชนิด ไว้ให้ช่วยในการบำบัดน้ำเสีย ทั้งโดยทางตรงและทางอ้อม ซึ่งจะทำงานสัมพันธ์กันกับกลุ่มของแบคทีเรีย และในส่วนสุดท้าย ของชุดบึงพืชน้ำ จะเป็นสระเลี้ยงปลา เพื่อใช้ประกอบในการสังเกตคุณภาพน้ำที่ได้ต่อสิ่งมีชีวิต น้ำที่ผ่านการบำบัดแล้วนี้จะมีค่า COD สุดท้ายที่คาดไว้ไม่เกิน 200-400 มิลลิกรัม/ลิตร และมีค่า BOD น้อยกว่า 60 มิลลิกรัม/ลิตร ซึ่งอยู่ในเกณฑ์มาตรฐานที่กรมควบคุมมลพิษยอมรับได้
