Barcelona's Argentine international Lionel Messi will spend 10 days on holiday with his family in a private villa on the Croatian island of Hvar, where he will also see his team-mate, Ivan Rakitic, the newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija has revealed.
They published on the front page that Messi's stay - the Barça man is currently focused on the Copa del Rey final - in Croatia was revealed by the owner of the luxury villa "Sancta Domenica", which is in the town of Sveta Nedjelja.
"It's true. [Messi's] people have been in touch with me and asked for 10 days in July. Now I'm just waiting for the final confirmation," said Slavko Gotovac, who assured that he follows Barcelona.
The rent of the villa is 3,000 euros per day, but Gotovac suggested he wouldn't want anything from Messi as it is an honour to have him as a guest.
"I've said that I don't want to earn anything. If they want to give me something, fine. If not, fine. For me it is an honour that the best football player of all time will be in my house," he said.
Gotovac added that he has been to watch Barcelona at Camp Nou many times, but he didn't want to reveal the dates of Messi's stay on Hvar, which is where George Clooney visited last year.
The newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija published that Croatian international and Barça team-mate Rakitic, who is a regular visitor to the Croatian coast, will spend a few days with Messi.
"Sancta Domenica" is a five star villa with five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a large health club, a wine cellar with the best wines, jacuzzi and swimming pool, helipad and a private beach.
