Hi Lazadian ,
i think everybody know Thailand is country of Budha.
Then the next monday 22th July is Asalha Buja Day.
This is Thai Official Holiday and Bank of Thailand policy.
holiday for the company , bank and goverment sector.
( History of Asalha Puja Day http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asalha_Puja )
Tuesday is The Buddhist Lent Day (The First Day of Rainy Season Retreat)
This 's important day of Budha too.
But this isn't both Official Holiday and Bank of Thailand Holiday.
The interesting activities in the Asalha Puja Day :
- Buddhadasa Idhapanno Archives (BIA - หอจดหมายเหตุพุทธทาส สวนโมกข์กรุงเทพฯ)

or you can join the walking with lighted candles (Wien Tien / เวียนเทียน) around the Dhamma Garden at Sathira Dhammasathan (http://www.sdsweb.org/sdsweb/). This is the interesting way to meditation and consciousness practice.
