จุดประสงค์
•เป็นการให้ยาที่ต้องการให้ออกฤทธิ์เร็วหรือต้องการรักษาระดับของยาในกระแสเลือดให้สม่ำเสมอ ยาที่ให้ต้องมีลักษณะเป็นน้ำใส และไม่มีส่วนผสมของน้ำมัน มี 4 วิธี
• การฉีดยาเข้าหลอดเลือดดำโดยตรง
• การฉีดยาเข้าหลอดเลือดดำโดยผ่านชุด heparin lock
• การฉีดยาเข้าหลอดเลือดดำผ่านชุดให้สารละลายทางหลอดเลือดดำ
• การให้ยาทางหลอดเลือดดำเป็นหยด

วิธีการให้ยา
• แจ้งให้ผู้ป่วยทราบ
• ให้ผู้ป่วยกำมือข้างที่จะฉีดยาให้แน่น ใช้สายรัดห้ามเลือดเหนือบริเวณที่จะแทงเข็ม 2- 3 นิ้ว
• ทำความสะอาดผิวหนังบริเวณที่จะแทงเข็มด้วย antiseptic solution
• ไล่อากาศจากกระบอกฉีดยาจนหมด
• ทำผิวหนังบริเวณที่จะแทงเข็มให้ตึง
• แทงเข็มเข้าหลอดเลือดดำ โดยหงายปลายตัดเข็มขึ้น เมื่อเลือดเข้ามาในกระบอกฉีดยาให้ลดมุมการแทงเล็กลง ให้เข็มขนานกับผิวหนัง ดันเข็มเข้าไปในหลอดเลือดดำประมาณ 2/3 ของความยาวเข็ม ถ้ายังมีเลือดไหลเข้ามาในกระบอกฉีดยา แสดงว่าเข็มยังอยู่ในหลอดเลือดดำ ให้ปลดสาย tourniquet และเดินยาช้า ๆ จนหมด สังเกตอาการผู้ป่วยขณะให้ยา
• ใช้สำลีกดบนตำแหน่งที่แทงเข็ม ถอนเข็มออก กดสำลีไว้สักครู่ให้เลือดหยุด หรือใช้ พลาสเตอร์ปิดทับสำลีไว้ให้แน่น

วิธีฉีดยาเข้าหลอดเลือดดำโดยผ่านชุด heparin lock

วิธีการฉีดยาเข้าหลอดเลือดดำโดยผ่านชุด heparin lock มีดัง

• เตรียมกระบอกฉีดยาบรรจุ heparin 0.5 cc. และกระบอกฉีดยาบรรจุ PSS 2 cc.( ไล่อากาศออกจนหมด )

• ฉีด PSS เข้า medication port 1 cc. เพื่อไล่ heparin เก่า
• ฉีดยาที่นำมาเข้า medication port
• ฉีด PSS เข้า medication port 1 cc. เพื่อไล่ยา
• ฉีด heparin เข้า medication port ตาม
• ถ้าใช้ PSS ใส่ในชุด heparin lock โดยไม่ใช้ heparin
• เตรียมกระบอกฉีดยาบรรจุ PSS 1 cc. ไล่อากาศออกจนหมด
• ทำความสะอาด medication port
• ฉีดยาที่เตรียมมาเข้า medication port
• ฉีด PSS เข้า medication port ตาม

หมายเหตุ
ถ้ามีการฉีดยาห่างกันเกิน 8 ชั่วโมง จะต้องฉีด heparin หรือ PSS ทุก 8 ชั่วโมง
• หมั่นตรวจสอบค่า partial thromboplastin time (PTT) และสังเกตอาการผิดปกติที่อาจเกิดจากการได้รับ heparin

วิธีฉีดยาเข้าหลอดเลือดดำโดยผ่านชุดให้สารละลายทางหลอดเลือดดำ
